Fiber Optic Wide-Area-Networks

  • An extremely high-speed, cost-effective connection between facilities
  • Can be used for high-speed Internet, data, video, and voice

Fiber between Facilities

If your organization has multiple facilities that are located relatively close together geographically (generally up to one mile apart), instead of relying on traditional circuits, you can have BestWeb install a fiber optic wide-area network between your facilities.

The fiber can be used for:

  • High-speed Internet
  • Data
  • Voice
  • Video

A fiber optic network provides transmission speeds of one gigabit per second (1,000 mbps) between your buildings. This is 650 times the speed of a T1. The speed can be easily upgraded to ten gigabits per second (10,000 mbps), which is thousands of times faster than a T1.

A fiber connection can be cost-effective when large amounts of bandwidth are required and the facilities to be connected are relatively close together. BestWeb can determine the cost-effectiveness of fiber versus other circuits, such as a T3, for your organization’s application.
